Yin Yoga - Wood Element 🌳 with Emma

Spring's Upward Energy The energetic direction of Spring and its accompanying element, Wood, is upward—symbolizing rebirth and growth. In Traditional Chinese Medicine's Five Element Theory, we move from Water (Winter's element and the source of all life) into Wood, as Water nourishes and feeds the growth of Spring. The Qualities of Wood Wood embodies sturdiness, stability, and flexibility. It roots deeply into the earth so we can rise up tall and fulfill our potential. The archetypal images? The willow and bamboo trees—possessing the ability to bend in the face of life's winds. Nourishing Liver & Gallbladder At this time of year, we focus on the Liver (yin organ) and its yang pair, the Gallbladder. In this workshop we will ground with pranyama, connect to our roots with poses that strengthen the spine so we bend rather than break. Turn over a new leaf and allow the body to keep growing with hip openers and twists that nourish our liver and gallbladder
